    Clive,

Nothing this last year mainly due to last years and the previous years visits by the Wild Pigs that frequent our neighbourhood.

Early and Autumn last year we had many visits as they bulldozed through our neighbours garden fences and hedges and ploughed up our garden, sometimes as many as five nightly visits on the run!!

Just as I try to make good the damage, back they come.

Anja will not plant much in the garden anymore as the perishers love bulbus plants and eat the lot.

They have also damaged and destroyed most of my Manual brass Point Switches and at the Moment I have no lust and concentrate on my 1/6 scale Military modelling.

They are building some new dwellings Close by and also where the Problem with the broken hedges and fences and so with a Little luck the area will be more secure.

Our 18 year old daughter came home in the early hours a few months ago after attending a schoolfriends Birthday Party and when she opened the security gate to the driveway, she was confronted by several families of wild pigs and to say she was scared is an Understatement.

Sorry for the glum News, but for me the only good wild pig is found at the BBQ!! Apologies to all animal Lovers and yes I too am one of them, but I believe that you would think the same after your garden, with all the hard work and Money invested, is severely damaged many times over.

    Regards
    Tom

Very sorry to hear that Tom. Hopefully it can be resolved and services put 'back on track' (I apologise for such a terrible pun)...

Fantastic layout, magnificent German tank engine.
A few years ago my wife thought I deserved a train set to amuse my young son, little did she realise quite what that was going to lead to! So, I gave some though to G scale and LGB trains or HO, in the end went for the smaller scale. One day I'll get it set up properly on a permanent layout with scenery etc!

Passengers used to massacre buffalo by the thousands shooting them on the passage on the Great Plains. Is this Nature taking revenge?

    And how's the 1:6th stuff, Tom? :)

    Hi Tom,
When I was enjoying your hospitality in 2011, they had/were having terrible problems at the War Cemetery with pigs digging it up. Has that problem been completely eradicated now with the fencing?

Edit: Forgot to use the new search feature and found the thread in one.

Wild Pigs. A CWGC Gardeners nightmare.

    Cheers
    Geoff

I don't know how they do it in these la-di-da days, but the RAF used to have a sure fire solution for the Wilde Sau pest. For simplicity I'll give you an illustrated example.

    Clive,
I rather let the 1/6th scale military modelling take over, but even that had to stop due to my seriously injured finger in March.
The finger is healing up well but will still take time.
I have restarted working on the Sherman, but slow at moment.
    Regards
    Tom

    Geoff,
The wild pig problem has disappeared since new security fencing was erected so there is now only the moles which are protected.

    Tom
