I happened to come across an old guidebook to this private museum recently. It was founded by the former TV presenter Keith Fordyce who died last year.Does anyone know what became of the collection?
It closed in the late 80s and the collection was auctioned off. Some details here: Torbay Aircraft Museum - Key Publishing Ltd Aviation Forums IIRC some of the uniforms and similar gear went to the Devon Collection of Period Costume in Totnes.
Axtually the exhibit I am particularly interested in wasn't an aircraft at all. It was a roll of tickets from Teignmouth Pier which had a bullet from a strafing German Me110 stuck in it. My mother always told the story of how she and her family were buzzed by a German aircraft when they were walking from Dawlish to Teignmouth whilst on holiday from Birmingham. I've always thought that it was probably the same one.
