Not going to Medjez on the next trip, maybe in early 2023, will try then

War Poetry....

1st.Army Soldier.North Africa 1943.

He lies quiet on the desert,
Sun bronzed legs shot through with lead;
The battle sounds still linger,
But he does not hear¬ he's dead.

He was no prudent soldier,
Chose life's exit not with care
Valourous indeed he was
But 8th.Army were not there.

His blood flows just as steady,
His sharp wound cut as deep,
the sand soaked just as crimson,
By booted shattered feet.

But Praise's voice is muted,
Seek no record of his fame_
The poor boy died at Medjez
And not at Alamein.
