Hello, I haven't asked for help before, just read all the threads and worked it out from that, thanks. But I am having trouble with my husband's Uncle Jack. His real name was John Arthur Butlin and he enlisted into the Number 6 Company of No 2 Training Batt R. A. O. C. on the 15th of jan 1940. I have his Service Record. He was a dispatch rider. I would like to fine the War Diaries of what he was up to, but I am finding it really difficult to know how to find them. This is where he was posted to No 3 (London) Ordnance Field Park w.e.f. 14.2.40 R. A. O. C Middle East w.e.f. 5th February 1941 Reserve Section of 3rd Ordnance Field Park Egypt was his location when the Middle East Force 1941 census was going to be taken, but the 1941 census was cancelled 7th May 1943 Posted to 10 Vehicle Company 27th July 1943 TOS 12 A/TPS Ordnance Field Park on re-designation 19th August 1943 Embark for Force Husky 29th August 1943 to 6th August 1945 in North Africa 14th July 1945 Taken on Ration from 8th Army Troops Ordnance Field Park 5th August 1945 Struck off Ration Central Mediterranean Force to UK I never met Uncle Jack, sadly he never got over the War and commited suicide, but my husband remembers him fondly, and it would be good to find out something of what he did in the War, if possible. Thanks
