WANTED - Battle for Bure accounts

    My uncle Gunner W page 53rd worcester yeomanry 6th light airlanding brigade attached 6th airborne, was at Bure and Banda? still alive aged 84 He might be able to tell you somthing but he is VERY deaf?

    I have just published a few maps on 8th Rifle Brigade's activity in the Ardennes and around Bure (including Chapel Hill), from 21 December 1944 until 14 January 1945: Maps and other documents - 8th Rifle Brigade

    Don Gillate also describes the period in his autobiography "With the 8th Rifle Brigade from Normandy to the Baltic". He "celebrated" his 22nd birthday in the bitter cold, on top of Chapel Hill.

    Hallo everyone, do you know where is it possible to find a map of the battle of Bure?

    I visited the village some time ago, see: Visiting the battlefields in 2020 & now in 2021.

    there is a small map in the link covering the initial assault by 13 Para Bn on the village.
