    Hi,
does anybody have access to the war diaries of the 2nd RF for April 1943, I am researching a guy who was wounded in action on the 27th April 1943 in North Africa and judging by the amount of wounded listed in the official records it seems to have been a fairly major action.

I am looking for a location, task and opposing forces, along with any other information,

    Cheers,
    Rick

    Ravrick,

I don't do War Diaries, but knew I'd encountered this time before. It took awhile and it was adding a pointer to a book a year ago: View of Ian Mitchell, The Battle of The Peaks and Long Stop Hill: Tunisia, April-May 1943 via: The Battle of the Peaks and Longstop Hill Tunisia April -May 1943

    Too early?
From: 225 Field Company, RE: Albert Joseph Turley

Oddly in a search on this website there was nowt on the RF on the Medjez Plain.

    Initial research

2nd RF is shown as part of 4th Infantry Division and 12th Brigade; their major battle 23-30/4/1943 was Medjez Plain. From: Combat Mission British Uniforms - Khaki Drill and Jungle Green

    From an RA officer's account:

I have an AB64 to a soldier of the Battalion who was wounded 29/4/43 and the note I have is that he was wounded at Sidi Abdullah, I'll have a look and see if I can work out where I got that
