Tom would you be able to tell me if it is known where when it says ' joined remainder of Coy at 798777' is . They obviously are codes for places/areas but I just wondered if anyone knows . I have received my grandfather's full service records now which gives me much more information and now know for certain he was with 552 RASC Coy 17th june main party embarking 22nd June. Thanks Tom . Maxine,

If I can still remember my Boy Scouts map reading badge theory, I make 798777 here. ("Along the hall, and then up the stairs" - i.e. "798" read along the horizontal axis and then "777" read up the vertical axis). Of course, I can't remember if the map reading badge was one I failed to get! Any map specialists out there, please pitch in and help if I've got that wrong.
