Hi, I am trying to locate the war diary for the 3rd Division Petrol Company RASC from Sept 1939 to Sept 1940 which was the period my grandfather was attached to this company. I believe this was part of the British Expeditionary Force. I think that the diary reference at Kew is WO167/225. I wondered if anyone had any details of this diary for this period before I have to arrange to travel down to London to view the diary. Thanks for your help
tillyk, Unless you particularly want a trip to Kew, there are two people on this site copy files for a modest charge. They are Andy Drew5233 and Lee PsyWar.org. I have a contact whose uncle was in one of the Petrol companies and was evacuated through Dunkirk, but I doubt it was the same one. Roy
Tillyk The War Diary you are after is as you say WO 167/225 3 Division Petrol Company | The National Archives As Roy mentions contact Drew5233 as he is the BEF expert and may already have the diary in his posession TD
I've now got over 900 BEF war diaries copied, around 500 to go for a complete set. I have all of 3 Divs war diaries. I'll send you a message Tilly.
