These two photographs were sent to me by another contact in France.
This memorial is South of Longue and West of Saumur. Two of the crew survived, the upper and rear gunners.
Note the two RAAF crew members. The propeller is made from slate.

During my road trip over the past couple of days, the memorial at Leeton New South Wales stands out like many over rural Australia. The memorial in the centre of the town on the main roundabout.

Leeton is 460kms north of Melbourne and 560kms west of Sydney.

This memorial is within West Germany. The wording along the top front continues on the reverse. It says; Sie Starben Bis Zum Tode Getrue Fur Heimat Und Vaterland. To translate; In Memory of the sons of Marienheide who fell during the war. They died and until death were true to their homeland and fatherland. These photographs were given to me by a friend who is half German half English. Taken during a 1992 visit to Saurland, West Germany.

The Angel of Victory, by Montreal sculptor Coeur de Lion MacCarthy commemorates 1,115 Canadian Pacific Railway employees killed during WW1. Three castings of the bronze statue were dedicated from 1921 to 1923, at the CPR stations in Vancouver, Winnipeg and Montreal.

On the plaque: "To commemorate those in the service of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company who, at the call of King and Country, left all that was dear to them, endured hardship, faced danger and finally passed out of sight of men by the path of duty and self sacrifice, giving up their own lives that others might live in freedom. Let those who come after see to it that their names be not forgotten."
