Reading through this thread for the umpteenth time I've just realised I never posted my thanks on here to the people who made it all possible, so here goes.

The biggest thanks has got to go to to Philip Reinders who placed the photo of the M10 Achilles and its crew on his remarkable website and for passing on the details of the local history group in Philippuslandt, who I believe originally sourced the photo. Thank you Philip.

Not forgetting Rex Cadman and his tank restorer Steve, without whose help we would not have experienced the ultimate in "icing on the cake" moments.

The amount of time that Steve spent with us as we crawled over the M10 (over an hour) went beyond all expectations and particularly as it was the first day of the show and he was heavily involved, along with the rest of Rex's team, in sorting out all those niggling problems you get when an event such as this first opens. Thanks Rex, Steve and the rest of the Cadman crew.

Mustn't forget Wally Shea who is also pictured in the photo of the M10 and who shared a lot of experiences with us of his time with my wife's late father and has also subsequently provided us with some very interesting documents and photos relating to the 62nd ATR RA.

Finally, a special thank you to Rob (Ramacal) who we met for the first time that day and who shadowed us with his camera throughout the event and must have missed many of the things he'd originally hoped see during the day. Thanks Rob.

To say the events of that day were emotional for my wife in particular would be an understatement, she was totally overwhelmed!

To all you guys who undertake research into their individual and broader projects, thank you and keep it up.

The work you do in piecing all those little details together obviously gives you great satisfaction but more importantly you are building a bigger picture of events during WW2 that will be there for future generations to view and hopefully gain a greater insight into what and how the men who fought in that war, experienced, suffered and in many cases died.

To those men that fought, suffered and died, goes our greatest respect and thanks.

In remembrance of John "Jerry" Jerwood.
