    Another good READ is STEEL MY SOLDIERS HEART.. By Colonel. David Hackworth. And ABOUT FACE
    Picked up a copy of Steel my Soldiers Hearts......... today to go with About Face, and somewhere I think I have the fiction book The Price Of Honour he wrote.

    Those are two great books. I prefer "Steel, My Soldiers Hearts" over "About Face", but that's just me. I met Colonel Hackworth and his wife at a book signing here in Baton Rouge a while back, and he autographed SMSH for me. I spoke with him for awhile, and he made you feel as if you were one of his soldiers. It was an honor just to be in his presence.

    Hey Bobby I reckon that must of been an experience you wont forget ,he seems a real soldiers, soldier shame ther are not more like him.

    Yes, it was a great day. I would have signed up, picked up a rifle and followed him to hell in a heart beat.

    Hi All,

    Ok another one to add will have to give that a try at some point, I do have Tiger Force which a friend of mine said is a good read.... And of course more up to date is Black Hawk Down and In The Company Of Heros which we all know was turned into Black Hawk Down....Both are good reads

    Worse still, the title of the film has actually been abbreviated further into "We were soldiers".

    About Face is a really good read. It is an autobiography of an inspirational leader of men, but it could just as well serve as a sketch of the modern U.S. Army and its instituionalised ailments that put necessary numbers of soldiers and civilians at risk. Many of them, as ever with military history, the stubborn failure to learn lessons from the experience of being repeatedly knocked over the head by the same object.
