Weymouth then and now and US Memorial

    I spent yesterday afternoon in Weymouth with the family. I found time to take a few photo’s of WW2 related subjects, the US forces bound for Omaha on D-day having sailed from Weymouth and Portland.

    Firstly two then and now’s, angles are not perfect.

    Nick,

    Thanks for sharing the photos, doesn't seem to be many changes in Weymouth over the years.

    The seafront and the harbour area has not changed that much which made finding the comparisons easy. When you consider how much attention the Luftwaffe paid to the area during the war years it's amazing that more has not changed. I found this web page earlier that lists the air raids in the area.
