...but there's no point. Amongst the reasons for drinking a decent Scotch are the attendant cultural associations. The sort of thing that makes me dig out 'Silly Wizard' on vinyl after the third large one... I have a rather nice Dun Bheagan 14 year Ardbeg on the go at the moment.
... At least until the last dram's drunk... Slainte Mhath... My wife's late uncle (living in a dry KY county) had this bottle of clear liquid that was one of the smoothest things I had ever tasted... Daughter treated me to a 12 year old Glenfiddich for my 54th so I'm a happy-chappy at the mo...
This is appropriate. It's pretty good, too. http://www.ninkasibrewing.com/beer-detail/allies-win-the-war/
Three words: Black Isle Brewery. Sainsbury's does a 'Taste the DIfference' light ale for £1.5 at the moment. It's brewed by Shepherd Neame. Stick it in the fridge, on a hot evening it's just the ticket. All the best Andreas

Dont mind a Budwiser or Becks in thsi hot weather but from Lager I'd go Dutch with Amstel or Orangeboom. During the winter love to try local bitters wherever I am travelling - there are some great ones out there. also enjoy the odd 12 year old single malt in the evening with Old Poultney, Aberlour and Highland Park being my current favourite, Also found a rather wonderful Italian after dinner drink Limoncello Cream - like Baleys with a lemon taste. Once I start on that it is difficult to but the bottle away - love it!
Our daughters called in today left families at home and are on a shopping expedition - a present for mum and a box of 12 bottles 2x Hobgoblin, 2 x Brakspear. 2 x Marston's EPA, 2x Forty Niner. 2 x Cocker Hoop and 2 x Banks Bitter for me and much pleased too. Waiting for the 'would you like to make a contribution request' - nothing, not a word. Choice, panic or look confused - off they went leaving me trying to work out what had gone wrong. An arm around me from i/c household and that - poor deluded fool look on her face - 'what's coming up?' - Bonfire night - 'nice try' I am convinced they were 'brung up' wrong. More present buying on Christmas eve.
Glenfarclas 10 Macallan 21 - if only I could afford a whole bottle a - oooooo Strathisla 12 Dalwhinnie Talisker Jameson Pussers Guinness and any decent porter/stout Peroni Hine Cognac - num, num, num I'd better stop , my G&T is evaporating
Last week, in a pub in Brum called, I think, 'The Post Office', I found myself drawn by the name 'Liquid Mistress'. Good job I was, as I think it may have been the nicest pint I ever had. (Even though it's makers use the word 'craft', which I interpret as 'marketed by the sort of people who serve ice cream on a roofing slate'.) Bleedin' lovely:
Fullers 2016 Vintage Ale - best beer I've ever tasted. Laid a few down to tide me over for the next few years.
We have some locally made ciders which are quite good now. I had a Spitfire ale last week which was pretty good. (From a can. What am I going to do? I'm in Canada.) I don't know a lot about scotch. I have a bottle of Bowmore Small Batch at the moment.
a single malt...£30 top whack, bishops fingers and 1664's. drink one......wash down with the other 2.......any permutation!
White Russians all afternoon, possibly triggered by sprog alpha being 16 and having finished normal school. (A mate & missus just dropped. When theirs is 16, mine will be 32!) They're looking at me funny.... Kids are evil....
