    Hello!

I hope someone can help me...
My friend and I were relics' hunting with the metal detectors the other day in the area of the gothic line, Italy, where the battles of the US, British and German troops had happened.
We found a lot of stuff related. Bullets, metal cases, cartridges, exploded hand grenades and also this (see pic below).
Maybe someone can help us to identify this?

    Thank you.

It looks to me like part of a 'modern' vehicle wheel balancing weight.

Yes but these are made of lead - that looks like brass

First thing that entered my mind that the object looked to be some form of balancing weight.

Lead is not used for rotating shaft balancing.

Most modern ones I can find are steel or aluminium - brass seems reminiscent of the steam age.

Railway wheel balancing on coaches was by adding nuts and bolts or 6 inch plates drilled through the wheel disc at designated positions indicated by the same type of wheel balancer as found in a garage only bigger.

    No Brass involved.
