    AGAIN MY THANKS to everyone for their kind comments.

    Especially for Mike L have copied one of my favourite War-time souvenirs as it aptly answers his question. It was drawn by the Intelligence Section Sergeant Pat Crosby.

    We shared the burden out; so many picks and shovels per Rifle Section. Sometimes able to carry some in the Platoon 15-cwt truck.

    Leaving Heinsberg after the 7/9 Royal Scots and 4 KOSB had captured it on the night 24-25 January 1945.

    can't be Guards - their boots are dirty as OUR Guards - especially those KIA - always had polished boots and brasses…
