Who do you think portrayed a wartime character well?

    I give you Messrs Croft and Perry as writers and the cast of Dads army, including several home guardsmen and a couple of 1914-18 veterans. I think they captured the spirit of the times very well.

    The cast of It ain't Half Hot Mum

    Croft and Perry were both Gunners who served in concert parties.
    The Indians were played by Asians, except for Indian born Major Michael Bates 9 Gurkha Rifles MID for service in Burma.

    This is the only film portrait of the valuable service of AA Command and a second outing for Windsor Davies as a RA Warrant Officer. A role model for many a BSM
