i saw some of the clips of her on tv, i admire her courage in not remarrying in all this time.i just wish that his remains could have been returned at an earlier time.

A sad tale, which I can truly relate to. My Nan never re-married, or even dated another man after Granddad died in Burma. She brought my Mum and my Uncle up on her own with no real help from any quarter, certainly not the state that is for sure.

She visited Rangoon War Cemetery in 1987, where, after a 44 year wait, she received her own personal closure.

How sad for all those who waited in vain. But for those who returned life was not easy. Anyone noticed the new film coming out soon called " The Railway Man" ? Re forgiveness and reconciliation after trauma of POW.
