Hi, I am trying to research Gnr 1550470 Wm J. Williams, Royal Artillery, 92 battalion. He was killed 7/4/1945 and buried in Bari War Cemetery. I would appreciate any information regarding the 47 Garrison Regiment and any details that will help me build a picture of Gnr Williams' war.
    Thanks in advance
    Roy

Roy, aside from searching this site, your best bet will be ordering his service records. They will give you details on the units he was in, where, and when and lots of other info. You can then find the right war diaries for him and see what his units were doing.

See the link in my signature for info and tips on doing this.

Cost is £30 and takes about a year to get them.
