I'm able to make sense of the basic details on the attached records but if anyone is knowledgeable enough to read Gothic German and make out the handwritting details from the notes then I'd be pleased to have their input. View attachment WO 416-159 - POW card - Alexander Hamilton.pdf
I believe I can read most of the handwritten notes. I cannot see anything on the bottom right part of this document, please re-send. Stefan.

Stefan I'm afraid that the copies are as I recived them by e-mail from the Archive Office. The documents in the lower half of the second page contain little detail, partcularly the one in the second quartile which is blank. I'd be interested to hear what you make of the hand written entries. By my reading my Dad spent time in hospital at Obermasfeld, from 17th January 1944 until some time in March 1944 suffering from a gastric complaint. I cant make much of the handwriting under "Abgang". Itlooks to me like hewas sent there from AK1015 in Bischofferode. Thanks TD but I have all of those details.
What I can read is that Alexander came from AK1015 Bischofferode and was treated in this hospital in Obermassfeld for gastroenteritis and then send to Zweiglager Muehlhausen /Stalag 309 some 200km away from Obermassfeld. Furthermore I can read that they confiscated a Fuellhalter (fountain-pen). Hope that helps Stefan.
Thanks a lot, Stefan. Thats another bit of the picture in place. If I'm correct in my understanding of the other details on the documents I was interested to see the payments that Dad receivd for work done while he was a prisoner of war. I know that Dad was hospitalised when he was repatriated. Does anyone know if it would possible to gain access to his Army Medical records?
Hi Archie You may be lucky, and it is worth trying to find his medical records. I say this as I have been trying to obtain medical records from the hospital that my Great Uncle was in and that was 1917, they say there is a 100 year wait to release records - this even after i was able to show that he had died in 1981 - ?? systems have to be followed :ewink: TD
Hi Archie, yes he did receive RM23,30 RM = Reichsmark in 6/44 from the employer 1220 (however that was). Stefan.
Stefan - Maybe Siemens could let everyone in on their secrets and that would help us all get answers!
