    [IMG]LIDA BAAROVA
Czech film actress, born Ludmila Babkova in Prague in 1910 and mistress to Goebbels during the late thirties. The affair ended in 1938 when his wife Magda demanded a divorce and Hitler ordered that he give up the actress. A reconciliation between Goebbels and Magda took place when Lida returned to Czechoslovakia under 'advice' from the Gestapo. In later years Lida lived in Salzburg, Austria, under the name Lida Lundwall. She died in Salzburg at the age of 86 on October 27, 2000, from Parkinson's disease.

    [IMG]RENATA MUELLER
A film actress and singer, one of Hitler's earlier infatuations. The relationship did not last long. After spending an evening in the Chancellery where, as Renata confided to her director Adolf Zeissler, Hitler threw himself on the floor and begged her to kick him and inflict pain. Shortly after this experience, Renata Mueller was found unconscious on the pavement in front of her hotel, forty feet below the window of her room. Renate's sister, Gabriel, maintains that she did not commit suicide but that she died from complications following an operation to her leg at the Augsburger Strasse Clinic.
    [IMG]HELENE BECHSTEIN
Wife of wealthy piano manufacturer Carl Bechstein. Hitler was often invited to their Berlin home where she lavished maternal affection on him. The Bechstein's donated large sums of money to the Party and to help Hitler's career by introducing him to influential people. It was Helene who introduced him to Berchtesgaden where they had a villa. It was always her expectation that Hitler would marry her daughter, Lotte.
    [IMG]MARIA (MITZI) REITER
Born in 1911, the youngest of four daughters of the co-founder of the Social Democratic Party in Berchtesgaden. She met Hitler while exercising her sister's dog in the Kurpark in 1926. She later visited him in his Munich apartment and the friendship developed. But in 1927, when she heard that Hitler was courting another girl, his niece Geli Raubal, blind jealousy drove her to attempt suicide. The attempt failed. In 1930, she married an innkeeper in Innsbruck and divorced him some years later.
Her second marriage was to SS Hauptsturmfuhrer Georg Kubisch. In 1938 she met Hitler again, and when Kubisch was killed at Dunkirk during the French campaign, he sent her one hundred red roses. There was no further contact between them. After the war, Maria Reiter Kubisch lived for a while with Hitler's sister Paula, and found work as a maid in a hotel. In 1977 she was living in Munich.

    [IMG]ZARAH LEANDER
Soon after Marlene Dietrich fled to America, Zarah Leander became the toast of Nazi Germany. Singer, dancer and actress, Zarah was born in Sweden and being fluent in German was employed by UFA in Berlin where she completed ten films. Her continuous role in German films reflected the strong support she had from the Nazi hierarchy. She became Germany's highest paid actress which did not please the propaganda minister Joseph Geobbels, who thought that a German born actress should have filled this role. A great favourite of Hitler, and despite her love of aquavit, her independent attitude, and her insistence that half her salary be paid in Swedish kroner, she soon came to be known as the 'Diva of the Third Reich'. Although she never socialized with Nazi party members she was shunned when she first returned to Sweden but eventually managed to land roles on the Swedish stage but never regained the popularity she enjoyed before the war and in her years working in Germany. In her film 'Die Grosse Liebe' the director could not fine suitable female actors to match her build and looks, so, believe it or not, some SS men appeared in drag and with proper make-up and wigs, took part in a dance scene. (Born in Karlstad, Sweden in March, 1907, Zarah Leander died in Stockholm in June, 1981)
    [IMG]GERTRUD SCHOLTZ-KLINK
Born in Aelsheim in 1902, married three times she bore eleven children. She became Leader of the Nazi Women's Group, responsible for directing all women's organizations during the Nazi era including the Frauenwerk (a federal organization of women) Women's League of the Red Cross and the Women's Labour Front. When she visited the United Kingdom in 1939, she was billed as the 'Perfect Nazi Woman'. Arrested in 1948 by the French, she served eighteen months in prison for working under an assumed name. In 1950 the German Government banned her from public office. Her book 'Women in the Third Reich' was published in 1978.
    [IMG]GERDA CHRISTIAN
Born in Berlin in 1913, she became one of Hitler's secretaries from 1933 to 1945. She was married to General Eckard Christian, Chief of Staff to the Luftwaffe whom she divorced in 1946. Gerda was previously married to Erich Kempka, Hitler's private chauffeur. (Her maiden name was Daranowsky.) After the war she settled in Düsseldorf but has remained noncommittal about her time in the court of the German Führer.

Owen, you are so right. You could have put makeup on them with a trowel and it still would not have helped those heffers.

This stud looked as though his IQ was closer to his shoe size than even to room temperature. I wonder if he got to do the air dance he was entitled to; I couldn't find anything on him.

I liked this babe's hairdo the best. She must have been a real witch, they hanged her rather quickly.

The "Beast of Belsen". He looks like he'd be the life of the party. He got to do the air dance about the same time as the chickie above.

    30. Anchor Pichen
Originally a Dane, this accused claimed that he later became a Polish national and was conscripted on the 25th May, 1940, into the German army. On the 20th November, 1942, he was wounded and crippled in his left arm.
He arrived with Francioh at Bergen-Belsen on about the 10th March, 1945. He never wore S.S. uniform, and never knew whether he was accepted for the S.S. On the 27th March, 1945, he started work in kitchen No. 2 under Heuskel. After four days he took charge of cookhouse No. 1 and worked there until he was arrested on the 17th April, 1945. He was never in charge of a bath-house. He had an unloaded pistol at Belsen, but did not carry it in the kitchen. He used to carry it on his way to and from the kitchen but never used it. He was on good terms with all the internees working for him, and never had any need to beat prisoners. He denied the allegations of Halota. (Footnote 4: See p. 27.) He agreed that there were always turnips in front of kitchen No. 1, but he said that nothing was ever stolen from kitchen No. 1 because it was outside the compound. In answer to Litwinska’s allegation, (Footnote 5: See p. 12.) he said that, all the S.S. men being called away to parade he locked up his kitchen, and that after the parade he did not go back to the kitchen but went to his own barrack room. The parade of S.S. men was on the 13th or 14th April, 1945.

Mathes was never in kitchen No. 1 at Belsen while Pichen was there. Ilse Forster was an Overseer in kitchen No. 1 for a few days. Lisiewitz was in the peeling department for a short period in No. 1 kitchen. Hahnel worked in kitchen No. 1, during the last week before the arrival of the British troops. Pichen did not know Opitz. Barsch was not in No. 1 kitchen during Pichen’s time ; nor did the latter think that Barsch was ever on the staff of any of the Belsen kitchens.

Kinda underscores my poor, appearance-based opinion of him, eh?. He must have been an idiot that couldn't poor pee out of a boot with the directions on the heel.

    Thanks for looking, Kyt.

Apart from Hitler's inner circle, few Germans knew of the existence of Eva.This is what Hitler required in his political ego.Hitler wished to give the impression that his sole purpose in life was his commitment to the Nazi Party and his beloved Germany. He saw himself as "married" to Germany and wished to see himself as the ideal partner in the thinking of any German woman but yet be "beyond reach" to any woman.

The Germany of this era had the domestic ideology among many others "that a woman's place is in the home, all enveloped in the Kinder, Kirke, Kuche (Children, Church and Kitchen) popular theory of the Nazi Party.Nazi ideology of "the womans question" was dogmatically in favour of inequality between the sexes with the man being the superior form and demonstrating the Nazi view of the superiority of Aryans above other races.(This is reflected in the artistic culture of the Nazi period and Hitler's love of the nude Aryan man demonstrating his visual superiority as a human being, gender and as a warrior)

If Eva Braun had been a member of the Nazi Party she would have been seen at party rallys and her close contact with Hitler would have been revealed.(There were many womans organisations in the Hitler"s Germany and Nazi Party but all were regarded as being of a lower ranking in the party structure and power against male members.)

Hitler's researchers have revealed that Hitler was very sensitive and unsure in close contact with an intelligent woman. He found it difficult to communicate and debate any serious topic with a woman. One such woman was said to be Henny Hoffman, the daughter of his photographer Henrich Hoffman who married the up and coming young Nazi, Von Schirach, later to be appointed the Youth Leader of the Third Reich, the forerunner to the Hitler Youth.

Henny was a convincing conversationalist who was able to hold her own with Hitler on serious issues which she had the moral courage to comment on when at the social gatherings on the Obersalzburg.(It may have been due to her father's close contact with Hitler and Henny may have been used to seeing Hitler frequently on her father's domestic scene and had little reservations about any conversation with Hitler.Eva was of course,Hoffmann's photographic assistant and Hoffmann was responsible for bringing Hitler and Eva together )

On one occasion she condemned the treatment of the German Jews to Hitler who refused to discuss the topic.Hitler was an admirer of Von Schirach who he saw as a true follower and dependable but nevertheless to negate further dicussion from Henny and remove her from his inner circle, posted Von Schirach to Vienna as Gauleiter in July 1941.

Look out for native German authors and researchers on Eva.There have been a number of revealing publications of late.
