Having recieved dad's service records, do similar exist for women and how do you get them if so? Mum was in the WAAF, and know her job, but intrigued as to what other info can be obtained.

Similar detail and source to that for your father.

Apply to Cranwell via MoD website SAR forms.

You can get her service/personal number from AIR 78 which can be downloaded for free from The National Archives.

Regards Ross, will persue this, as I have mum's 'service book' with service number and rank.

I have dad's (Border Regiment/Commando) service records - they took 6 months to arrive. I thought I'd like mam's (ATS HAA) and they arrived in a matter of weeks.

Also sent away for her medals at the same time ... got them yesterday, boxed, beautiful! War Medal and Defence Medal.

Sent off for my late wife;s records and her sister - both in the WAAF - but a fire had lost them both …got ONE sheet showing that she had indeed served

in the WAAF - thought it was conn job...

    Cheers

My father had sisters in the ATS. Are there any records of names etc. please? I know their names and years of birth but nothing on their services in the forces. Many thanks for reading this.
