There are some images of the machine in the first post but from different angles
Good stuff. The cylinders in the picture confused me and made me think it was something other than a coal gas generator. Reading about Fahrschulepanzerwagens described how the gas generated could be stored in the cylinders and used later
That building appears to be the background of another "what is it"posted on the forum...could be wrong of course.
Wood generated gas fuelled transports featured a great deal in France during the war.. such devices were common on the streets of Paris.The French transports stored their gas in gas bags at the top of the vehicle.
Seen accounts where the Maquis were involved and an operation had to await enough gas being generated to move off.
