Hi, My grandmother's WRN records suggest she deserted. It states in her record as discharged deserted. What does this mean? Was this as serious a crime as a soldier deserting? Also, she 'ran' on 9 Jan 1945, the same date given for 'discharged deserted', as this was after D-Day, does that bare any significance on the matter. Many thanks.
