    Hi,

I wondered if anyone knows where I can find information on the abbreviations used in a WW2 WRN service record? Or could someone on this forum help me?

    Many thanks.

Hello, would you care to post the record so members can see for themselves the abbreviations?

    Hi,
My grandmother's WRN records suggest she deserted. It states in her record as discharged deserted. What does this mean? Was this as serious a crime as a soldier deserting?

Also, she 'ran' on 9 Jan 1945, the same date given for 'discharged deserted', as this was after D-Day, does that bare any significance on the matter.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Lesley,

Attached are her records containing the abbreviations, and the reference to desertion. Any help would be appreciated.
