Why get well established actors? I personally think these things should be jumpstarts for new talent to show their skills...
Why not do it this way Swiper? Their call, hard times, purely voluntary. Some shockingly bad war films have been funded in the normal way.

Donating wouldn't be a problem as long as there is a film at the end of it. Being the ever sceptic I'd hate to donate for the film to fold and get nothing - Maybe there should be a film insurance firm like ABTA Do we need another D-Day film though - I could suggest some awesome material for a film set in France during 1940.
Is 'Crowd Funding' the term? Seem to recall a film or two have managed it this way. Worth a shot when conventional methods get harder. Has someone has got his regiment wrong?
