How to find my great grandfather information with there military service number . if it's not correct how do I locate him through that person information
Hi It would depend on which country he was in and what army he served in. Can you give us more details? regards Robert
Sarah to find out more information on Harry Fletcher you will require His date of birth His death cert . link here which will cost a few pounds General Register Office (GRO) - Official information on births, marriages, civil partnerships and deaths Then £30 to apply for his service records then apply for his service records here Get a copy of military service records
Your photos are the same as those on Ancestry, I don't know if any of the family trees are yours? The trees give his mother's maiden name as Westwood and one also has a picture of his grave which gives his date of birth as 5 October 1913 as do many of the trees. The birth registration indexes however suggest that his birth was registered in Q4 1912. Since his birth date is a critical piece of information I would suggest that your first action should be to confirm which is correct getting the certificate if necessary.

806803 A/Bdr H FLETCHER was reported wounded in the Middle East on 14/2/41, he is quoted as serving with the 68 Medium Regt. Note however that it was not unusual for soldiers to be transferred between units so there is no guarantee that he was with the 68 throughout the war, his service records should clarify.
