    Hi,

I'm not sure about masterpiece, but an attempt at covering the sea war, also I'm doing the Portsmouth 800 event this weekend so hence the Naval theme!##

I thought I might get some uniform ideas from you Guys but that was to no avail!!

Some VC winners for you Soren:
Greenwich(as that's a search page and might not work the umbrella site's here: Maritime Art Greenwich)

There's some corkers on there and the main NMM website but be prepared to wade through loads of near identical seascapes ;), specific section on uniforms is rather thin on ww2 though).

This has got lots of good stuff too ,very good on insignia :
    NAVAL-HISTORY.NET
The links are well worth a shufti too, riddled with pics of blokes of all ranks & in all situations.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Trailing through items posted, your item on uniforms was most interesting.
My Grandfather used to make uniforms in his spare time. Bellbottoms as wide as you like, tiidly bows, collars faded so you could look like an old hand, cords unstiched and resewn, really amazing stuff.
