What about stating a book exchange?? Sorta like multi coloured swap shop but with books.

    For example

I tend to read a few books and not really havethe space to keep em. if just read Chuck Yeagers bio which i bought cheap from the market, its a great book but I really wouldnt wanna read it again so i prob wont keep it. Rather than chuck it in the bin or take it back to the bookstall for 25p id rather someone else got the benefit.

no money involved just you send me a book and I'll send you one. for the price of the postage you get a bedtime read and one that another member has prob approved.

What do you think has it got legs??

    Kev

    anyone up for

Damn good idea, I just sent Ivan's War to GH today.
I don't intend reading it again & I knew GH wanted to read it.

I just need to see what I have on the bookshelf I don't want and think of something I do.

I have a number of books sitting in boxes that I'm intending to get rid of, should I post a list of what I have and my wants list?

    Regards to all

Andy have you got Rome 44 or The Fortress by Raleigh Trevelyn or Recollections Of Rifleman Bowbly going spare?

Used to be in my collection but they were cleared out a few years ago when I was in my "off-war books period".

Maybe we just need a stick thread. We can stick on what you have up for swaps'es and as they go you can edit your post. bascially end up with one post for each swap'er

Somebody give that man a medal.

That has to be the only way it'll work without chatter burying the books. Anyone who's been here a while must have their options set to display 40 posts per page so that's plenty of people listing swaps and maybe wants 'at a glance'. A book for a book can then all be arranged privately by PM.

Sounds an excellent idea - i have several books I'll never get round to reading and have no bearing on my research and interests. I'll have a trawl through the shelves and report back.

Good idea....except for the cost of me to sending book(s) to you Limeys, I can buy 'em.
    It isn't fair.
Can y'all just move over here, we have openings, just ask the Mexicans.
