Hey, Do we mind? Love to see their faces when they see their Fathers/Grandfathers writing!!!!! Or what they did. Is that not why we are here so who cares. The thing is who wins lol? The guy that spends 5 minutes giving someone the first piece of info or the recipient who is then committed and beguiled by the fact that they have something but now need so much more to satisfy their curiosity!!!! I know when l pass on a POW Liberation Questionnaire l am opening up a can of worms, more questions than l ever answer, gets them committed for life. It is great and yes Lee and the rest of you guys, l will tell you when i'm next there. I will buy you a coffee but remember my seat is 46C!!!!! Wednesday 5th? See you soon. Regards, Nick KenFentonsWar.com
Recently had the pleasure of touring the Ardennes with resident expert Stolpi. Day one was spent covering the action against the Americans. Second day was devoted to the British involvement. Well done, Stolpi and thanks again.
On my recent trip to Italy I had the great pleasure in meeting Damiano, Richard (Bexley84) and Frank (Minden1759). Also Paul Reed. Here is our battlefield historian hard at work  Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Randy - We had a good time, even though we did not meet any Canadian units. We first followed the bloody trail of the KG Peiper, then went into the dark woods on the German/Belgium border near the Elsenborn Ridge. A real 'highlight' was the Hasselpath north of Rocherath: On our last day we did the Brits in the Ardennes & visited the Mardasson Monument and the adjacent Historical Museum at Bastogne, getting out of the latter as quickly as possible was an experience not easily to forget! Do not visit the Museum if you want to learn more about the Battle for Bastogne.
Just had an interesting hour with Dave Steer(Evader) and Chris from Highcliffe near Bournemouth as they continue their trip from Vancouver Island all the way to Quebec before returning to Highcliffe - popped in for coffee on their way to the Rockies and a bit overwhelmed with the beauty of all of B.C. they have seen so far…always interesting to meet Forum members which is now Gerry Chester - Ron Goldstein - Sapper - Colin Hotham - Randy Klein…… could use more visitors…Come before the snow flies… Cheers
Ha really? Good effort - we just missed her when I was in Switzerland a few years ago and I'm still waiting for an invite to go to Eastern Europe
Was having a great time!! Really hope to meet you guys again (will bring along a new game next time). What Owen said. You can only invite yourself; write them an email and say that you know me. We'll be in Klessin again in October (3-11, I think).
I'm on holiday for most of September with a week in France and Belgium so work and the Mrs's won't let me go away again so soon. May be next year ?
Had a nice lunch on Saturday with 17thDYRCH and JohnS. Otherwise known as Randy and John Sliz. I was also the lucky recipient of a signed copy of John's fine book, The Storm Boat Kings.
Looking forward to meeting Stolpi and Johan next week as Randy and I descend on the continent for a week long tour of all things military. Well not entirely, copious amounts of beer could be involved too.
