I know there are a few people on here now who have a WW2 or military history blog. Thought it was about time we shared the links to them as they are increasingly becoming an interesting resource and indication of who is reserching what. My own Blog is here (it doesn't just cover WW2): Out of Battle If you are think g about a Blog it's a very easy way to start a website. The two main providers are listed below. Both are totally free to set up and use. There are no adverts on them either. Having tried both my preference is for Wordpress. WordPress.com — Get a Free Blog Here www.blogger.com
I found the joys of Blogging quite a few years ago and now have at least six of them ............ disgusting, aint it ! Only two of them are based on WW2 themes, namely : Ron Goldstein's Army Album & Ron Goldstein's Actual Army Album The first one was devised purely to duplicate the 100 odd postings I'd made on the BBC WW2 Peoples War Archives simply because I didn't trust them when they claimed the sites would be open to all and easily searchable. The second Blog was an attempt to duplicate my Army Album before I handed it over to the Imperial War Museum. Neither of the blogs get many comments and are frankly an easy way of keeping articles and photos in a searchable format. Ron
Hi Chaps, A blog might be the way forward for me to get some of my info out there? Are there any restrictions to the amount of material put on a blog, mainly in terms of memory size in regard to images? Bit of a computer infant in these matters. Steve.
Steve, you only have limited space to store images but the best thing is to get a free Flickr account and host the images there, linking them into pages on the blog. That is very easy to do.

Thanks Paul, I need to think these things over and get started. Trouble is I am still receiving so much info, it's difficult to write stuff and not to have to adjust it all a month later. Great advice, thanks a lot. Steve.
The good thing with a blog is you can edit it at any time. That makes it especially useful for any sort of 'work in progress'.
There's a blip on my Blog In the last week or so there has been a problem on the GOOGLE Blogging network relating to the Blog Profile that every Blogger owns. The system itself is working OK but if you try to call up your profile you get an error message that asks you to report the problem or visit the Blog Help forum. The Forum itself is full of identical complaints but so far no action appears to have been taken by the Blog authorities. http://www.blogger.com/profile/17035008 Any other Bloggers getting this problem ? Actual Blog sites appear to be responding OK, for example: Ron Goldstein's Actual Army Album Ron
I have/run 4 blogs. My own personal blogs are Thoughts on Military History and Military Modelling and Art. I also run two blogs for PGs at the University of Birmingham; Birmingham "On War" and The Aerodrome. Ross

For those that want to start a blog. I just got stuck in and made lots of mistakes. But this modern blog software is fairly easy to use So go for it Best wishes Steve Steve’s German WW2 Tours Blog
