This one I've enjoyed the most so far. Quite a lot of focus and footage from the UK with the build up to Normandy.

Some of the Pacific Combat Film Footage and that of the USAAF and Luftwaffe is quite remarkable.

WWII Lost Films is coming to an end on HISTORY, I’m glad to see you have all enjoyed the series so much, and thanks again for taking part in the London screening.

The final episode will be showing tomorrow night at 10pm.

I watched the last four today and was very moved by them. They were by far the best of the episodes.

The story of the American Japanese soldier and the African American were quite moving-especially their recollections on returning home after the war.

Covering the experiences of the Army Nurse was quite refreshing too as that area gets so little attention in documentaries.

The liberation of the concentration camps was probaly the most moving, the picture of the small jewish child stood still in the camp being filmed was quite emotional. One of his American liberators from an (I assume) armoured unit must have given him the a cross sword and scabbard from his collar to wear on his rags of clothes, probably a token gesture to try and cheer the child up. An image that will stay with me for some time.

As far as I can recall this has turned out to be probably the second best documentary I have ever seen on WW2 next to the BBC's infamous and historical work.

Americans should be very proud to have this excellent historical piece of work covering all their branches of the armed forces and all races that served in all theaters of the war-My only wish is someone in the UK does somthing similiar for the British and Commonwealth Forces before its too late.

    Regards
