Now you lot have shown us how many books you've all got , can a few more of you refer to them & help out in a few more queries. Cheers. Would love to Owen, but as you can see from my pics they are not what you might call "available" !

Therefore, from top left to right: Teenager's book case (must have done some indoctrination right ?)and book case in my commuter's flat (suspiciously few titles on flying here...) Finally bottom pic is of my main book case. Yes I do indeed have some of the titles in duplication. Deighton's Fighter was read to shreds as was Kingcome's A Willingness To Die. Stormbird that links not working
wTid45; Don't you dare.... Now I'm going to bed to refreshen my wits or I'll smash up something really expensive
For me: it's not displayed as a hyperlink and it doesn't work if I copy/paste into the address bar. Curious...

Having acquired new skills in the art of thumbnailing, I have taken the liberty to display my bookcases once more. Admin: Shoot me down if appropriate. Top: Junior's bookshelf, suggesting that some indoctrination might have worked. Middle:Book shelf in my commuters's flat. Suspisciously few titles on flying here... Bottom: My main book case in residence. Yes, I do have several editions of some books, typically Deighton's Fighter and Kingcome's A Willingness To Die, which were both read to shreds. And yes, some titles are duplicated in Junior's and my own case. Saves a bit of fighting

I notice you have a book called "lost Voices of the RAF", stormbird. Any good? Haven't read it yet, but it will happen next month ! Will post review. I liked Arthur's angle on the Dambusters, written in the same manner. Will also post pic (thumbnail!) from my boook collection in my aluminium case at present residing in 'stan.

Saves a bit of fighting Nice to finally see your books! and as well as having the SOE book on the top shelf Junior has it seems been taught well I find we share 20 books from the other two and that is a common theme I have yet to see a bookcase on here with which I dont have one or more books in common great minds and all that.

Nice, especially since I have so many books in Double-Dutch ! I believe I have taught/indoctrinated her well, as she is now struggling on a major school project on Norwegian resistance during WW II. (AND has volunteered for the King's Guards from this autumn) I had this relevation a couple of years ago when I was baby-sitting for a colleaguae and "stumbled " onto his bookhelf: We were reading almost exactly the same books !! MacKencie keeps puzzling me, however. Manuscript was finished in 1947 but not released until 2000. Book is full of "deleted from security reasons". Also full of factual mistakes, from the operations I have deeper knowledge/ other references of. Quite BTW: We've had another foot of snow! Could somebody please, with good communications, tell Big Boss Upstairs that it would be enough now ?
I notice you have a book called "lost Voices of the RAF", stormbird. Any good? Yes G, it's excellent. Good collection, SB.
Looking at this thread has given me a severe case of book envy! I moved to a new house a year ago and my collection remains boxed up in the basement as the construction of the library/office/workshop/home theatre proceeds at a snails pace. However, seeing all those wonderful collections makes me think that there could be a business opportunity here. Some variation on Netflix where forum members could efficiently and inexpensively exchange their books could catch on! Mmmmm.
... I moved to a new house a year ago and my collection remains boxed up in the basement as the construction of the library/office/workshop/home theatre proceeds at a snails pace..... I moved houses 6 months ago. Went to the local IKEA, came back with my trailer full of flat packages, assembled the new bookcases the same evening and had all my books in place by the next day. Just for your envy, canuck:

Just for your envy, canuck: View attachment 25254 You've got me interested in this ... what are the dimensions of these book cases? and how much were they. I have a seven foot wall that I want to do something like that with. My own vision is to have the doors, in addition to being glass, be able to take panel display so that I could swap out badges, medals or paper ephemera every now and then. Then I could have the best of both worlds. cheers. phil
