I shall watch these this evening, thank you. I had never considered looking on You Tube for this sort of thing. My husbands Grandad was a POW from 1941-1945.
You're welcome. Me neither. I think my great grandfather ended up in Falingbostel in time for liberation in April 45 so I decided to have a search for any related clips. I think the second clip was raw film which would be edited into a "proper" newsreel later hence the drops in sound and the very awkward interviews. Fascinating viewing.
