As part of reducing my work load with In From The Cold Project I am discontinuing the announcements for new CWGC commemorations on this sub forum with immediate effect. My reasoning behind this is that the majority of my announcements do not even get a single view so I am wasting my time. Of course the new commemorations will still appear on the IFCP forum & website. Chris
There's a glitch on the forum where some threads show a 0 0 result until someone posts on it, the the counter wakes up. It happens quite alot. edit: just posted on two of your 0 0 threads. (have now deleted my 'test' posts now that counter shaken loose) now counter shows. I also noticed Peter Clare had added pos rep on another 0 0 thread
The view counter indeed doesn't work properly. I've stared and stared at it's settings but it's pretty untrustworthy. New software coming in the next week may resolve that, or may confirm the status quo. The posts are certainly feeding onto Google quite strongly though, getting names and notifications out, but obviously it's your call, Chris. Continued good luck with the work whatever direction you go.
Sorry you feel you're being ignored Chris If you haven't noticed I've rep'd you for some of those announcements as do others, so there's proof out there that we do read them As Owen says, a longstanding prob with this software which hopefully will be sorted by the impending change All the best and thanks for your dedication and hard work
Well I did not know that there was a problem with the software so will continue with my announcements then. Thanks for the replies. Sorry I did not pick up on the reputation part of the threads.
Regardless of whatever with software, the forum is also a database of information, it may be of interest in the future to someone. Thanks for all your hard work, I can only begin to imagine the effort you put into this. You really do deserve the rank of General Gravefinder!
I have linked to this sub forum and so I read every post which I receive as an e-mail. I assume this does not show up anywhere as a 'view'. So, I am sorry that I have contributed to the seeming lack of interest. I thank you for all your hard work. Sam
