You need to have a look at a Website called Roll of honour and also look in local areas Geneology for war memorial transcripts.
It is time consuming but it is worthwhile when you find missing names there is other websites that are lossley linked.

Sgt Chester was lost on this day when Wellington HE152 HD-L was lost on a Gardening operation in the Nectarines Region (Frisian Islands) The aircraft was shot down by Kriegsmarine flak and crashed at 1742 hrs into the sea west of Ameland.

(Spidge said that this is one of the few occasions he has come across where there was not an Australian on a 466sq RAAF aircraft).

F/S Stewart is buried in Vlieland General Cemetery; the rest have no known graves. This was the Squadron's first operational loss since its formation at Driffield 15Oct42.

Now I have got the hang of this posting pictures lark, I will try to post some pics of the cenotaph with submarine gun, in connection with a ww1 VC winner that is in my home town Chepstow. Also will have hopefully some pics to post ref a Guards officer VC from WW2.
