I have been looking for information on my grandfather's Navy service during World War II and I have come up with nothing. I know that he received a bronze star and a silver star, but I would like to know more about him because he passed away long before I was born. If anyone can offer some guidance on this subject it would be greatly appreciated. I have already found this website extremely useful because I found a photo of my great uncle who served for the Royal Australian Air Force and was shot down over France and was MIA. Thanks very much for all the help in advance. :)

I would love to know your grandfather's name, and any other details you may have for him.

My grandfather's name is Robert Elmer Wigginton, he was born in Kalamazoo Michigan, and served in the US Navy. I believed he recieved a bronze star as well.

Do you know anything about his rank? I have found a Lt Cmdr Robert E Wigginton, in the U.S. World War II Navy Muster Rolls, 1938-1949, available on Ancestry

    Name:Robert E Wigginton
Ship, Station or Activity:LST Flotilla 21
Ship Number or Designation:LST Flotilla 21
    Muster Date:31 Dec 1944

And again on 1 Nov 1945.

    Does this sound like he??
