    Oh the Westland Whirlwind
The wings had to be propped up with plasticine to stop them drooping

If anyone said 'Westland Whirlwind' to me I would think of a helicopter - how very confusing!
    Everyday's a schoolday.

Adam, were you looking over my shoulder while I was sorting out boxes of magazines today?

    Kind regards, always,

    Jim.

I think it is called 'normal'. Most unacceptable these days.

It does seem to be a universal theme. U.K., U.S. and Canadian kids all seemed to have the same innate desire to destroy models in increasingly creative ways. And no one got the idea from the internet.

Thankfully, I never had the desire to harm small animals. I had 3 younger siblings for that. :smug:

Given the fate of '909', maybe should have used Liquid Poly... perhaps a few dabs of cyanoacrylate.

    Oh, I didn't notice that.

Started this last night. Thinking of making it into a diorama. Any reference photos / links greatly appreciated.

Hi Matt, I assume you want WW2 photos for diorama references rather than for the tank? I have some pics of the one in Bovington.

This should get you to Crocodile photos at IWM:

Thanks Chris C. Yes for the diorama. We have pictures from the war but they’re more of Grandad with colleagues or the locals stood in front of the tank. The link is more what I’m after with the terrain and landscape.

I’m hoping to get to Bovington at some point. Fingers crossed that’ll be before any further lockdown.

Among the latest arrivals here... and to think I started getting 1/48 kits because I thought they'd be easier! These are resin from a fellow in Scotland:
    - an adaptation kit to convert the Tamiya Churchill VII to a IV (I think - I can't remember if this is the kit for a III or a IV though I suppose I should remember the turret shapes by now)
    - an alternate upper hull for the Sherman II kit (I want to mod the kit to be for El Alamein)
    - a Valentine X, full resin kit

I finally picked up a brush again. My work in progress. Maybe I'll finish it this millennium! I had to cut off the molded-on shovel because it was in the way. (Matchbox 1/76 Stuart)

Glue seems to feature here - on my first, limited visit - and so a reminder from earlier post:

Seem to have bought an A2 cutting mat to protect my lovely desk...
... Now looking at an A7V kit in the stash in a 'hmmm' manner...
