From the relative "Sorry! I got the letters in the wrong order. It was WTA. Women’s Tennis Association."
Wakey, wakey, thread! Just for the sake of completeness I thought I would update the thread with Amy's Service Record, which my friend has now received. There are some abbreviations I haven't been able to find an explanation for: "VE(G)" - The 'G' struck out and replaced with (SCU) [which I DO know the meaning of]; "U/List"; "TA/List"; "SOS (Struck Off Strength?) Y List (E)"? I understand Amy served with Special Communications Unit 3, part of MI6 and which was based at Arkley View, north of Barnet, where intercept reports from all over the country were sent. At Arkley these various intercepts of the same message would be compared and a final 'good' copy of it sent to Bletchley for decoding. As always, any help, comments, suggestions etc most gratefully received! (Sorry if images are in wrong order/duplicated - finger trouble, and trying to correct)
