Does anyone have evidence that the RAC (or maybe the TA?) operated M10s after they took over anti-tank duties from the Royal Artillery around 1949-1950? I've seen this claimed somewhere, but I've never seen proof. And I've looked at some archival documents from the transition period which make it seem doubtful.
Kevin's name lists have a few postwar RAC M10s, and he's a pretty serious chap about checking stuff. Updated Resource - Post WWII Tank and Vehicle Names
I feel unsure about the first link - as far as I know, Charioteer never served in Germany, and whenever I see something like that I feel like it calls other statements into question. But at least it's a solid indication that the M10 was being used by the BAOR in the early 1950s, so thank you for that. And the second link gives 1952 date as well, interesting. vP - the above is corroborated by Kevin's list - some names up until 1953. Thanks!
I feel sure I've seen M10s in postwar Hong Kong images. Not trusting my memory, though. Need to check
VP, if you could keep your eye out for any Archers in postwar HK photos I would be grateful. There were a few (I think either 6 or 12).
