Attached are some images of Kangaroos from 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment.
Images are mostly courtesy of Temujin, British Pathe and the Imperial War Museum Archives. All are for reference and research.
I have attached one image of a Kangaroo whose name is not complete this is TERBACKY ???? If anyone can confirm the full name or add anything it would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Here’s my guess.
Terbacky may be a play on Tobacco (old
Country dialect of saying it). The second word looks like 4 letters beginning with R. (So it may be road or a slang dialect road)
Tobacco Road was a popular book in the 1930s and a movie by John Ford released in 1941. Maybe one of the crew was a fan?

    Thanks Orwell,

TERBACKY RODA, TERBACKY ROOF and TERBACKY ROOT seem to be the most popular options. What ever it is it is a bit of an unusual name.

Looks like it might be Terbacky RITA?

    Very interesting.

I only recently discovered that (parts of) 6th Airborne Division arrived during the Battle of the Bulge in january 1945 in Kangaroos. My best guess would be British, of course, although it would be nice if it were Canadians.

Any information on the subject of their use in the Ardennes is very welcome!
