I'm trying identify an RAF ASR launch reported as being destroyed after an explosion whilst refuelling at Falmouth on 21st September 1944. Reportedly with one killed and two seriously injured.

In my experience ASR vessel and personnel losses are difficult to track down, so I wonder if anybody has any clues as the identity of the launch in question or a place I could look, to search for this and other ASR/HSL losses.

    Regards,

No.42 at Newlyn was closest. but could have been a launch on transit to/from remote unit.

My post #7 on this thread give locations and AIR29 ORB reference for all the UK units.
