  1. Ciao fab ww2talk

Hugest thank you to everyone who has helped me with my threads with regard to my Daddy and The 15th Scottish Reconnaissance Regiment. Oops, I have one more question (which I have clicked hard on Google (I am an SEO and a good Googler :) but not found info/ images) .

From the war records, thank you Recce_Mitch, I know The 15th Scottish Reconnaissance Regiment, 8 May 1945 > :
    • RHQ was based: (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany) ELMENHORST > TIMMENDORFER STRAND. C Sqn= REINFELD.
    • Was overseeing German Armies from DENMARK who were coming South towards HAMBURG to surrender and, VPs (Vulnerable Persons?) and DPs (Displaced Persons)

Is there more info / images with regard to this? V sorry, I am still chasing any mentions / images of my daddy (Albert Ward).

As always, hugest thank you to everyone who answers / reads.

Don't know if you have looked at the Reconnaissance Journals, these do contain some info on 15 Recce:

  7. @Tony56 v thank you. The hugest hug ever, to Recce_Mitch as, so soon after I wrote my first thread in 2020, S.T.E.L.L.A.R Recce_Mitch uploaded, which made my heart-miss-a-beat, 15 Recce War Diaries which were totally inaccessible during lockdowns/furlough, and which I used on my web page to Daddy. It also, so helped me try and track daddy's route and c squadron from Normandy to outside Hamburg and... my German (lovely & good Mummy).

I will always be haunted, that I never asked my parents more to reveal more of that horrendous time. They never wished to talk about it. Shoot me - I always thought that they would be there and the right time could come to ask it. I was an utter IDIOT to not accept myself growing up in age and not cautiously ask them. But even not well informed of their awful experiences (thus undertaking this research now) - I wish their (and other) stories be told, and the awful consequences of horrendous wars are not forgotten - particularly poignant in 2022, wars are still horrendously happening.

    I have composed another thread
    WW2 Photographs - Upload & Archive Your WW2 Images

Can you please encourage all your member friends to upload their WW2 images ( I may not have tagged this thread well)

ps sorry - I got Mummy's link wrong before - had linked to her Mummy, who I called Mutti, too
