    Dear friends,
Was wondering if there exist War Diaries from a RAOC unit N°3 ( Ist Corps) mai 1940.
I am not sure if the name of the unit is complete. Got it from the daughter of the Dunkirk veteran.
    Kind regards from Flanders,
    Jef

    Hi Jef,

I specialise in most WW2 matters of the RAOC however your unit description above is very vague and the link from Tony56 is for 1943 not the BEF. Most of the BEF war diaries at Kew are held in WO 167 although it contains almost 1500 files. of course not all are RAOC. And of course most of the BEF diaries terminate in May and many others were destroyed in the haste of evacuation, or were buried as the BEF retreated. I have a list of all files in WO 167 so if you could provide a bit more info on the unit, then it would be very easy to see if a file exists but at the moment, your description is not much help. I can tell you however that there are some 24 records of the BEF that include the title 1 Corps but only one is relevant to the RAOC - ADOS 1 Corps.

Other RAOC units in the BEF in May 1940 which might match are 3 Sub-Depot RAOC and 3 Base Ammo Depot RAOC but these were not part of 1 Corps. Over to you.

Thank you Joroty. Sorry for late answer. I will forward your answer to my British friends. They gave me the unit information they found from their fathers documents. I hope they will find more.
