Hi to everyone here. I’m Gaz, Stoke born and bred, having grown up on the old Meir Aerodrome throughout the late 90’s and early 00’s.

I stumbled upon this forum after researching 37 pattern webbing.

I’ve been slowly starting to research the home front around Stoke-on-Trent during the Second World War. Including the civil defence of the local area and the plans on invasion.
It’s believed that my granddad served in the 4th (Hanley) Bn North Staffordshire Home Guard during the war.

I’m always more than happy to chat with people with a similar interest.

I found one of the threads on here very interesting to document the civilian casualties throughout the war in the city.
