11th Armoured Division and the Crossing of the Weser, Leine and Aller - April 1945

    I don’t recall a specific camp in the Rehburg area but I will have a dig through the war diaries of the relevant units. I know the roads in the area were thronged with liberated prisoners of war from a multitude of nations and it is quite possible that among them were Russians from Rehburg.

    did you find out any information on this? I have a photo from my grandfather's possessions that appears to have a pile of bodies labelled in german I think. They could well be soviet. Hard to tell but the uniform certainly looks like it could be. its taken in woodland during winter. He would of been through the area after bridging the wesser

    I have since realised the wording on the back of this photo does in fact end with 'russen' which would tie in with this
