    Hi all,
As mentioned earlier this year; I would inform you about the progress on the book "The Short Life Of The 11th Parachute Battalion from Palestine to Arnhem 1943-1944".

Work on the manuscript is currently still in progress but nearing its completion.
When work has completed on the manuscript, it will be handed over to my fellow author Philip Reinders.
Philip will take over from here: as most of you will know Philip is we’ll involved in the writing & printing of the Arnhem battle and other W.W. 2 British/Commonwealth related subjects.
Another team of two people connected to Philip will cover the illustrations; Matt Yates is responsible for the artwork and the cover of the book.

Philip Reinders, Ben Kornet and I have over the years passed collected a large collection of 11th Parachute Battalion memorabilia.
These come in the form of photographs, insignia, pay book, Red-Cross & P.O.W. items, veteran made plaques and other memorabilia concerning the 11th Parachute Battalion.
Together with known existing photographs of the Arnhem battle, these items will feature in the book.
The manuscript contains over 20 chapters and covers the 11th Parachute Battalion from its forming up to its disbandment.

That's about it for now; I will keep you updated as our work progresses.

    Regards,
    Dre

We will have too set up a "Bristol Battle of Arnhem interest club" and arrange a visit to Arnhem & Oosterbeek and tour the Battlefield sites in the not to distant future.
Flights from Bristol to Amsterdam are cheap and the train to Arnhem are very good, just the hotel costs can be a bit pricey.

I think that sounds like a plan, now if can just convince the Wife i'm in! but for now being as we are but 15 mins from each other, we will have to have a inaugural meeting of the "Bristol Battle of Arnhem interest club" love the name by the way:D

In all seriousness, If there is any interest in forming a Bristol club then that would be great, It doe's appear to me that the Battle of Arnhem draws a lot of attention on this forum with a lot of knowledgable members who give great information and in-sight to "Market Garden", As Arnhem and the Battlefield is easierly accessable from Bristol with Airlines like Easyjet flying to Amsterdam daily it seems a good idea to take advantage of this.
So we need to meet up in a Pub in Bristol somewhere for an O group to form BBAIC, Please PM me if anyone is interested.
