In all seriousness, If there is any interest in forming a Bristol club then that would be great, It doe's appear to me that the Battle of Arnhem draws a lot of attention on this forum with a lot of knowledgable members who give great information and in-sight to "Market Garden", As Arnhem and the Battlefield is easierly accessable from Bristol with Airlines like Easyjet flying to Amsterdam daily it seems a good idea to take advantage of this.
So we need to meet up in a Pub in Bristol somewhere for an O group to form BBAIC, Please PM me if anyone is interested.

    Steve
Steve, has to be said there is more than a passing interest in the Battle of Arnhem, and while I have plenty of books...... well if we forget the 400 or so Paul haso_O......I have yet to visit the place I have read so much of in those books, which on many occasion has left me at a disadvantage at times on some threads....in being able to visualize places and thus trying to put events into context can be a problem! so lets see who else throws their hat in the ring then we will go from there, and where else would you have a meeting other than a pub :D

I have had one interest from a member who lives in Wiltshire and says he would meet up,Maybe I should make a separate thread to try and get more West Country members interested, And we will need to find a good pub to meet up in.

A pitty it isn't that cheap from Amsterdam to Bristol (230 euro's) or else some dutch guys would come over also

If the BBAIC gets off the ground we could all meet in the Schoonoord someday, we will need some local expert's to show us around.:D

I have looked at the price of the return flights to Amsterdam they can range from £50-£100 for a long weekend.
Personally I think you need a good 2 to 3 days to have a good look around, and the hiring of a minibus would be an advantage.

    Gents,
with deep regrets I have to inform you that; due to certain sad events that have taken place in my private life just recently, work on the manuscript had come to a stop in November-December 2012.
I have spoken with Philip about the delay and we both agreed that our target date September 2013 is no longer reasonable.
I am truly sorry that the book wont be ready in time for this years memorial of the Arnhem battle.
Don't get me wrong the manuscript will be finished but I can not give you any publication date after Philip and I have spoken to certain people.
The good news is that I had the chance to interview John Bosley of HQ-Platoon last month with the help of his daughter, thanks to Paul and Tom for their help in the matter.
I already had John's personal account but this was my chance to ask John some more questions about his time with the battalion, his help was just marvelous.
I would also like to thank Tom for his help with the MIA documents during our battlefield tour last September.
If anybody has any questions feel free to send me a pm/e-mail.
    Regards,
    Dre Wielink
