This is brilliant! Can I ask where the chalk numbers and which company were in them have come from please? And is there anything that sheds light in a similar way on the Rivenhall serials?

There is this confusing table from the HQ 6th Airlanding Brigade War Diary (Appendix) on 12 Devon gliders. Good luck with sorting it out though as there is missing info.

Hi Leanne. Sorry, you are mistaken. I posted that photo originally and it is my grandfather, Sergeant William “Bill” Stevens, who is front row fifth from left. Regards, Tim.

I was scrolling through again to find more about my Great Grandfather Alfred Brimicombe, and i saw his name on one of the Grave forms, i FINALLY have a picture to share, and very little information, but happy to share.

Oh absolutely, I find myself down many a rabbit hole, but it's so important.

I was talking to someone on Facebook who runs a page about The Devons, and was kindly sent this. I'm aware its blurry, but I thought it was worth a share.

Sadly I don't have any other information, it was found by my aunt and we dont have any answers regrettably. I have asked for more info.

 

The photo was pre Varsity, I think originally it was sent to me by one of Frank Dugan's relatives.

 

Chalk 133 ?

In an old post author Stephen Wright of the book, "Last Drop", thought this was a pre-Varsity photo as well. No idea, however, how true that is.
