The 2nd Battalion 3rd Madras Regiment joined the 25th Indian Infantry Division in early April 1945 after the division was withdrawn from the Arakan to prepare for operations future operations in Malaya. The 25th Division landed at the beaches at Morib, eighteen miles south of Port Sweetenham in Malaya, on September 9th, 1945. The division remained in Malaya until 1946, when disbanded.
