Hi, does anybody have a copy of the war diary for 159 Brigade for the period 12-15 April 1945 when they were engaged in heavy fighting with HJ and Kreigsmarine personnel around the area of Winsen/bannetze/Walle near Bergen Belsen? I believe they suffered many casualties due to panzerfausts and 88mm guns on a road that runs paralell to the river Aller. Cheers, Rick
Here's the diary you are after: WO 171/4426 159 Infantry Brigade HQ 1945 Jan.- Dec. You may find the battalion diaries more detailed though unless the Bde file contains patrol reports etc.
