A good book about the 49/48 LAA Battery is 'The Storm at Kalidjati' by Francis Hansen published 2017 and available through Amazon.
Interesting to see from the list of missing, which I have also checked on the Java Rolls are that there were two Gissings in the 49 Battery. Gunner H G Gissing and Gunner C Gissing. Since their Service Nos are 1653703 and 1653702 I would assume (never assume!) that they joined together and were either brothers or cousins. From 'The Storm at Kalidjati' - Gunner C Gissing was wounded on 21 February by an anti-personnel bomb which landed five yards from his gun. He survived the war. I cannot see any referenceto Gunner H G Gissing.
